Throughout 2020 we have seen a large change in upcoming trends. Due to Covid-19, brides have been changing the ways that weddings will be held for years to come. Here are some trends we have forecasted for the 2021 wedding season!
Sustainability
Going green and having an eco-friendly wedding is all the hype right now! Ways to do this include using outdoor venues for ceremonies and receptions, reusable decor, greenery and biodegradable decor. Also keeping everything local so that transportation and air pollution can be decreased.
Micro Weddings
Micro weddings are the new go-to for many brides. Due to Covid-19 large gatherings and celebrations have been postponed with micro gatherings to take their place for the time being. Micro weddings allowing the couple to gather with their closest family members and friends to celebrate their wedding on the scheduled day, while they can plan a larger celebration for a later date!
Statement Headpieces
Brides are diving into this all-out wedding trend by incorporating statement headpieces into their wedding day style. Whether this headpiece be a statement veil, hat, or flower crown, it can add some individuality to their outfit!
Color
Replacing minimal with colorful! Brides are looking to add more color into their wedding day. This means moving away from pastels and whites and transitioning to bright extravagant jewel tones and citrus colors! This can be done through decor, dinner, desserts, and clothing!
Shopping local
Shopping local does many things to help keep your wedding ethical! It helps to support small local businesses when times are tough and it helps to reduce air pollution by decreasing transportation means.
Outdoor ceremonies and receptions
Outdoor weddings will be trending in 2021 and beyond due to the cooped up feelings of quarantining. Celebrating with guests outdoors will allow guests to feel more comfortable due to Covid-19 and will give people the opportunity to get out of their houses!
Acts of Gratitude
Thanking your guests for joining you on your big day will be trending! After months of isolation it will be important to remember to be thankful for the people who go above and beyond to make your wedding so special. This can be done through decor, desserts, etc!
Summer Cocktails
Summer cocktails will soon be all the rage if not already. This could be because of how refreshing they are in the hot summer months or because of the fact that they follow along with the colorful trend! Refresh your guests with a bright fruity cocktail on your wedding day.
Extravagant decor
Just because the number of guests at your wedding may end up having to be smaller over the next year, does not mean you have to downsize your style! Many brides are looking to still go all out on their wedding day by adding even more extravagant decor!
