Dreams Do Come True! AMW x VOGUE

Did you hear the big news? A dream come true... AMW has been featured in Vogue! We are beyond excited, proud, and thankful for all of those who helped us get here. If it weren't for our amazing vendors, photographers, clients, and of course Megan Pinckney (@shadesofpinck), this huge success probably would not have happened.

Let's dive into the details, because you know we love all the details.

Getting Ready

Megan Pinckney and her bridal party got ready in the luxurious bridal suite at The Dewberry in Charleston, SC. Megan was dressed by a luxury womenswear designer, Sergio Hudson, a friend and South Carolina native. She chose a beautiful body suit from his previous collection and Sergio himself insisted on personally designing Megan a maxi skirt with a train and a signature belt. Accompanying the Hudson gown, Megan repurposed one of her grandmother's family heirlooms. Alexis Doktor Designs helped re-create the veil her grandmother wore 54 years ago using pearls, shades of pink, and blue flowers.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in Washington Square, a small park behind Charleston City Hall. The park is full of luscious oak trees and secluded by an iron gate created by the legendary Philip Simmons. Megan and her mother drove to the ceremony in a pink 1991 Nissan Figaro, also known as The Pink Figgy. Violinist Preston Barbare of EdgeWire Music serenaded the small group of 20 guests as the beautiful bride walked down the aisle. At the conclusion of the wedding, Megan and Todd jumped the broom and hopped back into The Pink Figgy to head the the reception.

Cocktail Hour

The cocktail hour and reception took place at Henrietta’s, the restaurant at the bottom of The Dewberry. Cocktail hour was held in the front by the bar, and then dinner was served in the dining room. One of Megan's favorite elements of the space was the retro-inspired vibes and the black and white tile floors. In order to incorporate the holidays in an elegant way, the space smelled of Thymes Frasier Fir candles and touches of luscious green garland. Florals by Salt + Stem bloomed throughout the space.

The Reception

The reception began after guests found their seats accompanied by gold table settings, raw edged menus, and green velvet napkins. An intimate four-course meal with wine pairings was served for the bride and groom and their 22 guests. Shortly after dinner, the dancing began and the bubbly was popped! A beautiful champagne tower brightened the dance floor using red glasses from Estelle Colored Glass.

Cheers to a night to always be remembered! Not only for Megan & Todd, but the entire Alexandra Madison Wedding's team and our vendors who made it all happen. It truly was a wedding for the books, and when I say books, I mean Vogue.
