Middleton Place: Charleston's Charming Wedding Venue

Tucked along the banks of the Ashley River, Middleton Place is more than just a beautiful venue, it’s a living piece of American history. As a National Historic Landmark, it offers a one-of-a-kind setting that blends elegance, charm, and Southern heritage, making it one of Charleston’s most sought-after wedding destinations.

With centuries-old oak trees draped in Spanish moss, vibrant gardens that change with the seasons, and a stunning view of the river and rice fields, Middleton Place feels like it was made for unforgettable celebrations. From intimate ceremonies to full wedding weekends, the property offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces that cater to any style or vision. Guests can even stay on-site at the charming 55-room Inn for the full Lowcountry experience.

Maddie and Jaden’s wedding perfectly captured the magic of Middleton Place. Their ceremony was held in the Octagonal Garden, a half-acre of romantic beauty featuring seasonal blooms and breathtaking views of the Ashley River. With space for up to 400 guests, the garden served as a stunning backdrop for their vows.

The celebration continued at The Pavilion, a 4,700-square-foot space overlooking Eliza’s House, the Greensward, and The House Museum. Its flexibility makes it ideal for cocktail hours or elegant dinners, and its open design allows for tented expansions to suit any size gathering. With room for up to 200 guests, it provided the perfect setting for Maddie and Jaden’s reception.

Whether you're dreaming of a small, heartfelt ceremony or a grand wedding weekend, Middleton Place delivers a timeless atmosphere and the kind of natural beauty that turns special moments into lasting memories.
