Natural Outdoor Summer Wedding

If you are looking to spend your special day surrounded by elements of beautiful nature that allows for your close family and friends to join you, an outdoor, summer wedding may be for you. Earlier this summer, AMW used its vision to create a styled shoot that included traits of the outdoors with greens, slate blue-gray and white. The shoot was located at the Millstone at Adam’s Pond in Columbia, South Carolina, which allows events to be held both inside and outside, with natural greenery surrounding the venue. If you are looking for inspiration for a nature-incorporated wedding, look no further!

Table Greenery

Succulents are an up and coming trend for weddings, as well as sustainability. If you are opting to use more subtle color palettes, use your interest in nature by using real greenery and outside elements to accompany your tablescape and flat lays for your invitation.

Subtle Colored Tablescape with Pops of Nature

The table setting above uses key details that supplement a natural feel, flowing throughout the dining experience. By using simple, slate-blue and white plates that keep the greenery bold, it does not create chaos on the table and it allows for a poetic rhythm of gold accents such as votives and cutlery. The bride above goes well with the chosen traits of the outdoor, summer styled shoot with a loose, pulled back updo and a flowing dress that cascades with the flowing water behind her.

Trend Alert

Signature cocktails are a great way for the couple to showcase their personalities and interests. Accompanied by a cocktail sign, the marrying couple gets to decide on two drinks that match them both and are able to showcase their interests to their guests. Since signature cocktails set couples apart, loved ones will think of your wedding and everlasting love when they see this drink on a menu the next time they go out!

Another trend we are loving is this hanging sign that looks like an illusion. Positioned in front of a vibrant green tree, the “It was always you” is a perfect backdrop for the happy couple, that stays on theme with the nature-aspect of this styled-shoot.

The Shoot Location + Venue

The Millstone at Adam’s Pond is located in Columbia, South Carolina. It is surrounded by a woodland backdrop with a pond, where a ceremony can take place on the property. Their in-house catering service, Southern Way, has spent over 30 years in the business and we were loving the aesthetically pleasing hors-devours they allowed us to showcase for our styled shoot. It is absolutely ideal for an outdoor ceremony and indoor/outdoor reception and can hold up to 350 guests using both the outside and inside hosting areas.
